Photoblog created by the Tank77 collective from Bologna (Italy). Tank77 is the photographer’s collective of the
Ex-Mercato 24 social center (what in english is better known as a
squat). We promote photography offering free classes and free use of our laboratory. We Also organise expositions in the Bologna area. In a country where social perception is conditioned by few people, we try to consolidate the unofficial memory of our times. More than a simple aesthetic research, we focus on social oppression issues such as: social movements, precarious jobs, immigration, mass consumption, etc. Nevertheless our collective doesn't have any content obligations for the weblog
···Technical considerations···
Most of the photographers work with old fashioned second hand material. Our laboratory has been built with recycled pieces of an abandoned 70’s laboratory. Digitalization process is long, expensive, and not always perfect. We use Adobe Photoshop in order to compensate some of its defects respecting the original work. The site is technically not achieved yet. Imagemagik doesn't work properly in our server, and the design is only optimized for Mozilla Firefox. Tank77 is a civic initiative. Our services are free, but photography is still a very expensive activity. Our main material resources comes from: expositions, donations, and high quality prints selling.
